Premier League sides Manchester United & Chelsea have been linked with West Ham United midfielder Declan Rice for a long time. But it seems that both the English sides might back out eventually.

According to talkSPORT’s Jim White, the Hammers are demanding a transfer fee of up and above £100m for the sale of the 22-year-old.

White said, as quoted by TEAMtalk: “[West Ham co-owner David] Sullivan has already told me it’s got to be north of £100m or they won’t entertain it.

“We’ll wait and see what happens with that.”

Can Man United & Chelsea afford to sign the West Ham United star?

Declan Rice is the most prized asset for David Moyes and the defensive midfielder still has three more years left on his current deal with West Ham United.

So we can understand why the London outfit are demanding such a crazy figure for the England international.

While both Man United and Chelsea are more than capable of paying such a sum but we doubt if these two will look to spend so much money on one single player right after such a massive lockdown.

It’s Frank Lampard who was desperate to sign Rice from West Ham United but now with Tuchel in charge, we are not sure if Chelsea will even pursue the 22-year-old or not.

And as far as Man United are concerned, if the club part ways with Paul Pogba then only will we see Solskjaer making a move for Declan Rice. Or else, we don’t think the Norwegian boss will spend £100m from out his own transfer kitty.

West Ham United are in no hurry to sell Rice so Moyes can be really patient with the negotiations this summer. Now it’s up to the interested clubs to take the initiative if they are keen to land Declan Rice before the next season begins.
