Aubameyang Arsenal EPL

La Liga side Barcelona have registered an interest in Arsenal forward Aubameyang and they are willing to send Philippe Coutinho to the Emirates as part of a swap deal, as per Sky Sports.

The report claims: “Barcelona are interested in signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Arsenal.

“The La Liga club are willing to offer former Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho in part exchange for the Arsenal captain.”

Will Aubameyang head to Barcelona in a swap deal?

Aubameyang was supposed to start Arsenal’s first PL game of the season but he eventually missed that game through illness.

But former Arsenal star Kevin Campbell has admitted that Auba and Lacazette’s absence is something to be concerned about, for more reasons than one.

Campbell said on Sky Sports News: “Something is awry. Something isn’t right.

“Right up until the [Brentford] game they [Aubameyang and Lacazette] were going to be in the starting line-up and then all of a sudden they are out. If they are ill let us know what the illness is.

“I just feel like there is some infighting going on at some stage. Arsenal don’t need this because there is some serious work to be done [in on-field performances].”

Now, this offer from Barcelona is sure to set tongue’s wagging since Aubameyang has not been in the best of form ever since he signed that new deal plus Arsenal badly need a new No 10.

Philippe Coutinho has turned out to be a major flop for Barcelona since his £121 million transfer from Liverpool and multiple reports have claimed that the Brazilian wants to head back to the Premier League.

Barcelona are in massive debt which is why they want to get rid of Coutinho and to be really honest, it will not be a bad idea for Mikel Arteta to agree on this swap deal.

Aubameyang has only two years left on his contract so it will not be too big a risk to let him leave, especially when the manager has players like Gabriel Martinelli who can play in that same role. Nicolas Pepe has also done really well when playing on the left-hand side so letting the Gabon international leave in exchange for Philippe Coutinho could turn out to be a game changer.
