Will Chelsea allow this 28 Y/O misfiring forward to join the Serie A next season?

Hakim Ziyech Chelsea

Chelsea forward Hakim Ziyech has failed to impress during the 2020-21 season and right now, AC Milan are looking to sign him on a loan deal, as per Calciomercato.

Sports Mole cites the report: “AC Milan are reportedly pushing to sign Hakim Ziyech on an initial loan from Chelsea with an option to buy the winger.

“Ziyech failed to live up to his billing in his first season at Stamford Bridge, scoring six goals and assisting four more in 39 appearances.

“The Morocco international has been tipped to depart Chelsea this summer, and Calciomercato claims that Milan are ready to offer the former Ajax man a route out of West London.”

Will Chelsea allow Hakim Ziyech to move out on loan?

Hakim Ziyech moved to the Premier League last year but the Moroccon international has not been able to have the same sort of impact which he had when he was at Ajax.

Most pundits believe Thomas Tuchel will give the playmaker one more year to prove his worth at the club. But now this interest from AC Milan could force a change in plans.

Tuchel plays with a 3-4-2-1 system so there are a lot of players who are competing for the main playmaker’s spot in the side. And this is one big reason why Hakim Ziyech could be sent out on a loan deal.

But, unlike the other forwards, the former Ajax man can play in a variety of roles up front and this versatility could prompt the manager to hold onto him.

During the 2020-21 season, Hakim Ziyech played in only 23 Premier League games, scoring two and assisting three goals. But most of these appearances came during the first half of the season before Thomas Tuchel had taken charge at the club.
