Chelsea and Manchester City take on each other in the Premier League this weekend and after such a strenuous game vs Real Madrid in midweek many pundits think Tuchel will rest some key players.

The Blues beat Madrid 2-0 in the second leg of the Champions League semi-final on Wednesday and all of his big stars featured in that match. S, it’s only obvious that the manager rotates his squad to keep everyone fit for the remaining couple of games.

While the manager has not totally revealed his tactics for Saturday’s game but the Chelsea boss has admitted to the fact that he will be need some fresh legs to cope up with the might of Manchester City.

‘We haven’t totally decided yet,’ said Thomas in his pre-match press conference.

‘We have one day less to recover and it’s away game, so we are travelling today and that’s a key factor at this time of the season.

‘I imagine we’ll need some fresh legs and fresh minds, guys who want to show they deserve a chance in a big fixture.

‘Whether there will be new stuff tactically I don’t know. I haven’t decided yet. I have to look at who is available after training today. There is a high possibility we will see some changes.’

The Blues need to win this match to be able to stop West Ham United from catching up with them in the top four race. So, we don’t expect a massive overhaul of the starting line up which faced Madrid in midweek.

But having said that, players like Azpilicueta and Werner are going to be rested on Saturday, especially since the manager has apt backups in each one of those departments.

Hakim Ziyech and Reece James are going to come back into the side against Manchester City while chances are that Olivier Giroud could also get a start up front.

Thomas Tuchel needs to pick up a win to be able to finish in the top four of the Premier League table. But, at the same time, he also has the FA Cup and the Champions League finals to look forward to.
