Arsenal take on Everton in their next Premier League game but Thomas Partey might still not a 100% fit to start in midfield, his manager has hinted.

Partey has been recovering from an injury but he did return to the team at the weekend. He came off the bench(84th minute) in the 1-0 win over Leicester City and got to play around 10 minutes.

After this appearance, everyone was certain that he will be fit to start against the Toffees on Wednesday but Mikel Arteta has claimed that the 29-year-old is still isn’t fully fit.

The manager said in his pre-match press conference: “He hasn’t trained much. He had a session and he will train today.

“It is what it is. He was out for a few weeks and he needs to get back into the rhythm.”

This basically means Thomas Partey will not be starting against Everton but that won’t be too big an issue for the Arsenal manager because now he has Jorginho.

Jorginho has settled in very nicely since joining from Chelsea and he will once again pair up with Granit Xhaka in central midfield.

Jorginho had a pretty solid game against Leicester and someone like him will be more than enough to face a faltering Everton side. Also, Partey should be good enough to play around 25/30 minutes which means he will be coming on as a sub in the second half.

The Toffees did manage to beat the Gunners a few weeks ago but they are still within the relegation zone and it’s almost impossible to predict a similar kind of result on Wednesday.
