West Ham United might be forced to sell off their winger Grady Diangana in the summer, that’s according to former West Bromwich Albion striker Kevin Phillips.

Grady Diangana has come up through the ranks at West Ham United and this season, he has been sent out on loan to West Brom. And as per Phillips, the 22-year-old might remain with the Baggies, in case the Hammers are relegated from the Premier League.

Kevin Phillips said, as per Football London: “If I’m a West Ham manager or owner, I wouldn’t want the kid to go if we got relegated.”

“Ultimately it depends on the kid and what he wants to do. It looks like he’s settled at West Brom and he’s happy there. You’d like to think he’d want a crack in the Premier League with West Brom. It will be interesting to see how that one unfolds once the season is completed.

“It will be a difficult one for West Ham if they are relegated, as he is the sort of player who can thrive in the Championship.

“But, from the player’s point of view, if you have been at a club all season and they have gone up to the Premier League, you will want to stay. You get the sense an agent could get involved, and a transfer request could be thrown in.”

Will West Ham United be forced to sell Grady Diangana?

The winger has been a real hit at the Hawthorns, scoring five and assisting six goals in the Championship, so far during the 2019/20 season.

And if the Hammers move down to the second division then there’s no way David Moyes’ side will be able to hold onto the England U21 international.

Thanks to the unexpected lockdown, the Hammers are badly in need of funds for the upcoming transfer window and they are already planning to part ways with some of their top players like Declan Rice. So if West Ham United move to the Championship, they can let Grady Diangana leave for as low as £15million.

Right now, West Ham United are 16th on the league table and are out of the bottom three only due to a superior goal difference.
