West Ham United are trying to sign Jesse Lingard on a permanent deal this summer but according to The Sun, Manchester United might not be interested anymore.

Lingard has turned around his career after joining the Hammers on loan in January and in 16 Premier League appearances for the London side, Jesse Lingard has scored nine and assisted five goals.

These performances have convinced David Moyes to make the loan deal permanent as soon as possible but according to the report, Man United might be tempted to give the 28-year-old a shot at redemption.

The report claims: “WEST HAM fear Manchester United will block any attempt to sign Jesse Lingard by opting to keep the star this summer.

“There are increasing concerns within the club that United have no interest in letting the England ace leave Old Trafford on the back of the impact he has made while on loan.

“SunSport understands there has been no contact at all between the two clubs to discuss a permanent deal, despite the Hammers making it clear they would be willing buyers.”

It’s not a surprise that Manchester United have had a change of heart after seeing Lingard’s performances at West Ham United. But we don’t think Ole will stop the playmaker from joining the Hammers permanently.

Jesse Lingard in a recent interview had said that he joined West Ham because he wanted to play regular football. So by remaining at Man United, he will once again turn himself into a benchwarmer.

Jesse Lingard told the club’s official website: “I think just obviously playing week-in week-out, the lads have been brilliant, the staff have been brilliant and they’ve put confidence in me to play and do well.

“I was already ready to play from many months ago so to play the first game at Villa seems a lifetime ago now that we’re near the end of the season, but it’s been a brilliant experience and I’ll take away so many memories.

Also, Man United have Bruno Fernandes and Donny van de Beek who play in the same role as Lingard so it will be totally pointless in holding onto the England international and missing on a substantial transfer fee.
