Harry Kane is trying really hard to secure an exit from Spurs this summer and over the past few weeks, fears were growing that his strike partner Son Heung-Min could also try and move out.

Kane has been the feather in the cap for Tottenham this season but Son has been the second-best player in the squad, scoring 17 goals and providing 10 assists in 37 Premier League games this season. And for almost this whole campaign, the Lilywhites have relied on this pair to score goals.

Spurs have finished seventh on the league table this time around meaning they will not be playing in the Champions League next season. And this is why some experts felt that Son Heung-Min could also look to head for the exit doors before the next season began.

But according to a report in the Football Insider, the Tottenham management are certain that Son Heung-Min is committed to the club and will not want to leave in the coming months.

The report claims: “Tottenham are confident Son Heung-Min will still be at the club next season, Football Insider understands.

“The South Korea icon is one of the club’s two prize assets and there is speculation he could agitate to leave if Harry Kane is successful in engineering his own exit.

“A Tottenham source has told Football Insider that club chiefs are “confident” Son, 28, will not leave in the summer transfer window.”

This will be a huge sigh of relief for Daniel Levy since the chairman has already made plans to sell Dele Alli in the summer and to make matters worse, he could also lose Harry Kane. And in such a scenario if Son was also looking for an exit then Spurs’ attacking backbone would have been totally crushed.

The South Korean has been a class apart since joining the North London side in 2015 and he still has two more years left on his current deal at the club. But like Kane, Son Heung-Min could also start showing tantrums if Spurs cannot get back into the Champions League soon enough.

Ultimately whether both Harry Kane and Son stay at Spurs or not will depend a lot on who their new manager is. If Levy cannot bring in someone world-class then there’s every chance that Son Heung-Min, Kane and even a few other players will want out.
