Harry Kane sent a few shock waves across the Tottenham camp last week when he did not show up for training. After remaining absent for the whole week, the forward has come out to clear the air, just when Pep Guardiola chose to speak about him.

Kane was due to return to training on Monday but he did not show up the whole week, giving rise to rumours that he has revolted against Daniel Levy by refusing to train with the club.

This was a clear sign of frustration from the England international but he has now come out to suggest that he is not protesting against the club.

“It’s almost 10 years since I made my Spurs debut. For every one of those years, you — the fans — have shown me total support and love,” Kane tweeted.

“That’s why it hurts to read some of the comments that have been made this week, questioning my professionalism.

“While I won’t go into the specifics of the situation, I want to clarify that I would never, and have never, refused to train. I will be returning to the club tomorrow (Saturday), as planned.

“I wouldn’t do anything to jeopardise the relationship I have with the fans who have given me such unwavering support during my time with the club. This has always been the case as it is today.”

Harry Kane moving to Manchester City?

This statement from Harry Kane comes on the same day the Manchester City manager spoke about trying to sign the centre-forward.

City are clearly the frontrunners in signing him and no matter what Kane says, him not showing up for training was a clear message to Daniel Levy that he wishes to leave.

Legally Harry Kane cannot do anything which is why he’s probably chosen to backtrack on this decision but with Man City showing clear intent, it will be really hard for Levy to stop him from leaving.

The Etihad outfit have money to spare during the ongoing transfer window and if they put around £120-30 million on the table, it will be difficult for Spurs to resist a sale.

Spurs fans react to Harry Kane’s statement:

Just like us, even the majority of the Spurs fans are not ready to accept this clarification from Harry Kane, claiming that the forward had every intention to start a revolt.
