Manchester City are refusing to give up hopes of signing Harry Kane as the striker is still waiting to join the Etihad outfit before deadline day – as per The Telegraph.

The report claims: “Harry Kane still wants to leave Tottenham – and hopes Man City will push ahead with bid in next week.

“Harry Kane is hoping that Manchester City will finally push ahead with a fresh British-record bid to try to sign him this week after the striker was left out of the Tottenham Hotspur squad for the meeting between the two sides.

“It came as Tottenham’s head coach Nuno Espirito Santo continued to insist that Kane will remain at the club and will play once he has proven his fitness, having only returned to full training on Friday.”

Will Man City be able to sign Harry Kane?

The report also goes on to add that Spurs will only let Harry Kane leave if an offer of around £160 million is made.

Manchester City, so far, have not been willing to splash that kind of amount but after Sunday’s loss, there is every chance the Etihad management might be willing to change their stance.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Manchester City are now preparing a bid of around £127 million and they are hoping this new figure will force Daniel Levy to agree on a deal.

If the Spurs chairman remains adamant on his conditions then the North London side will knock back this offer as well. And he can afford to do this because Harry Kane still has multiple years left on his contract.

Only two weeks are left for the summer transfer window to shut down so expect things to get a bit frantic from now on. And given’s Daniel Levy’s status we will not be surprised if the Spurs chairman manages to pull out his desired price from Manchester City.
