Lucas Torreira

Lucas Torreira has become a wasted talent at Arsenal having started in just four Premier League matches so far during the 2019-20 season.

The Uruguay international was brought in to become a long-serving player at the heart of midfield but right now the manager seems to be using Matteo Guendouzi more often that him.

So naturally, there have been multiple exit rumours surrounding Lucas Torreira and it has long been reported that AC Milan are interested in signing him during the January transfer window.

Milan tried to get their hands on him during the summer too but the Gunners somehow managed to convince him to stay at the club.

But now that he’s seen so little game time at the club it is more or less certain that Lucas Torriera will try and move out at the start of the new year.

And this is why Milan are expected to launch a bid for him in January.

Up until now, it was only Milan who were interested in signing him but as per the latest rumours, even Napoli are keen to bring him on-board as they want Lucas Torreira to be the long-term replacement to Allan who is expected to leave next summer.

Daily Mail writes: “According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Napoli are keen to find his replacement quickly and have identified Torreira as their main target in the upcoming winter window.”

It is still unclear as to which club Lucas Torreira will choose but many pundits claim Unai Emery will once again be able to convince him to stay since Granit Xhaka has now been frozen out of the squad.

Ever since Xhaka has fallen out of favour at Arsenal, Torreira has seen a lot more game time and if the former captain leaves in January which he should, then surely Lucas can give his career at Arsenal one more shot.

Now though the only thing the Arsenal fans can do is wait, watch and pray that Lucas Torreira chooses the English Premier League over the Serie A.
