Premier League side Man United are out in the market looking for a new centre-forward and according to Fichajes, one of Ole’s targets is Alexander Isak.

The report claims: “One of the positions that Manchester United wants to reinforce is that of centre forward, because he only has Edinson Cavani to occupy that position and they need a piece that can offer solutions.

“[Alexander Isak]A self-sufficient profile that Solskjaer likes very much and that can offer many solutions from the bench to Manchester United.

“He is young and has to continue growing individually, but by profile he fits perfectly with the Norwegian coach’s attack.”

Are Man United likely to make a formal bid for Alexander Isak?

Alexander Isak joined Real Sociedad from Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2019 and thanks to his performances last year, the striker has caught the eye of a number of big European clubs, including Manchester United.

Neither Edinson Cavani nor Anthony Martial are not going to be a long-term solution for striker’s spot at the club which is why Solskjaer is so eager to sign a new centre-forward during the ongoing transfer window.

Man United have also been linked with players like Harry Kane and Erling Haaland but we doubt if they are ready to pay £130 million plus for either one of them this time around.

Alexander Isak, on the other hand, is currently valued at £36 million so he will be available for a much cheaper price.

During the 2020-21 season, the Sweden international played in 34 La Liga games, scoring 17 goals and he could very well solve a lot of problems for Manchester United.

Isak is a wonderful talent and he’s been linked with a few big European sides but we don’t think Solskjaer is really keen to make a formal move for the 21-year-old.

United have already spent big on Jadon Sancho and they also need to bring in a new central defender and a central midfielder before the new campaign kicks off which is why we feel the club will look to rely on Mason Greenwood, Martial and Edinson Cavani.
