FA Cup final Man City vs Man United England
Wembley Stadium Premier League

England take on San Marino in their first match during the international break and Arsenal youngster Bukayo Saka will not be a part of that matchday squad.

Saka was supposed to join the Three Lions squad this week for Thursday’s game but the FA have confirmed that the 19-year-old is not going to be available for the first game.

The tweet read: “Marcus Rashford sits out to continue his rehabilitation, while Bukayo Saka is still with his club for further assessment on an on-going issue but it is hoped he will join up with the squad later this week.”

This is a big setback for Bukayo Saka because this international break was the perfect opportunity for him to showcase his talents to Gareth Southgate for the upcoming EURO in the summer.

But thankfully, the injury is not too serious and he could be available to face Albania on Sunday.

The teenager will be itching to play for his national side but we are not sure if Mikel Arteta will be too keen to send him to the national squad so early.

Bukayo Saka has already played in 25 Premier League games this season and this two-week break will be the perfect opportunity for him to rest and regain his fitness.

Arsenal still have a lot to do in the league as well as in Europe and Saka is a key part of Arteta’s plans this season. So, the last thing the manager would want is for the 19-year-old to aggravate his injury while playing against a team like Albania.

England should not have any problems in overcoming teams like San Marino and Albania and with the squad depth that Southgate has at his disposal, the Three Lions should also be able to beat Poland without too much fuss.
