Arsenal FC Emirates

Arsenal have been on a roll in the previous few matchweeks, climbing to the fifth spot from the 20th and next up they face Liverpool at Anfield.

Mikel Arteta’s side will be really buoyant going into this game and if they can beat Liverpool on Saturday then they will move above them on the league table.

The Gunners have picked up wins in each one of their previous four matches but this one will be no walk in the park. Liverpool might be fourth on the table right now but they still remain one of the best and strongest teams in Europe.

Mikel Arteta thankfully has only a handful of injuries to deal with whereas Liverpool have a long list of absentees. While we don’t expect Arsenal to pick up all three points this weekend but even if they can manage to snatch a draw, then also it will be a major confidence booster for them and at the same time, it will rattle Liverpool’s cage.

Arsenal team news vs Liverpool:

Aaron Ramsdale has successfully dethroned Bernd Leno as the No 1 and the summer signing will reprise his role on Saturday as well.

Ben White and Gabriel have been able to find sync amongst themselves after an initial period of hesitancy so they are once again going to start in central defence.

Sead Kolasinac picked up a nasty injury while playing for his national side during the international break but the left-back is way down the pecking order for Mikel Arteta to be worried.

The left-back area though should be a position to watch out for since Nuno Tavares has been playing really well in the previous few weeks but now that Kieran Tierney is also back to full fitness, the Arsenal boss has a key decision to make.

Ideally, Tavares should be in the side based purely on merit but against a team like Liverpool, the more experienced Tierney could come back into the first XI.

Thomas Partey did not join his national side due to injury and the midfielder will be the major cause of concern for Mikel Arteta this weekend.

Granit Xhaka is already out with an injury and now if Thomas Partey is also absent then the manager will have to use someone like Elneny alongside Lokonga in defensive midfield.

Martin Odegaard has really struggled for game time since rejoining Arsenal in the summer and we expect him to remain on the bench once again.

Arteta will need players who can press and hound down the Liverpool players and someone like Lacazette will be much more suited for this role instead of Odegaard.

Emile Smith Rowe will operate on the left flank with Aubameyang playing up front and once again Nicolas Pepe will have to watch from the bench as young Bukayo Saka gets the nod ahead of him on the right-hand side.
