Raphinha Leeds United

Liverpool have already registered an interest in Leeds United winger Raphinha and it seems like Jurgen Klopp has finally made his initial move.

Leeds United paid £17 million to Rennes last summer to acquire the services of the 24-year-old and this season, he has been really impactful for the Elland Road outfit. During the 2020-21 campaign, the Brazilian scored six and assisted nine goals in 30 Premier League games for Bielsa’s side.

The rumours of Liverpool wanting to sign Raphinha had been picking up wind over the past few weeks and as per the latest reports, the Anfield outfit have now made a £32m bid for the right-sided winger.

Mo Salah has been one of the best players in the league in the recent past but his performances have slowly started to take a dip and it’s like an open secret that Klopp is hunting for a long-term replacement. The manager does have a long list of transfer targets but someone like Raphinha could be the perfect replacement for the Egyptian.

Will Leeds United be ready to sell Raphinha?

Ex-footballer Kevin Phillips has claimed that even though Raphinha has no problems at Leeds United but still the winger will be more than ready to make the switch to Liverpool this summer.

Kevin Phillips told Football Insider: “100% he would [want to move to Liverpool], no disrespect to Leeds but why would he not join Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp? He will jump at it.

“I was very surprised when Diogo Jota went to Liverpool but when you get an opportunity to join Liverpool you do it, so I’m sure he is flattered being linked.

“If there is half a chance in the summer I would imagine the player would push for it.”

And we can’t help but agree with Phillips on this one since the opportunity to play for a club like Liverpool could be too big a temptation to put down for the 24-year-old.

Obviously, all this will depend on whether Leeds United are ready to sell him or not. At this point, the club’s not likely to accept the offer of £32m since the player still has three more years left on his current deal at the club.

If Liverpool can offer crazy amounts of money then Leeds might be tempted to let Raphinha leave but we are not sure if Jurgen Klopp will have a massive transfer budget this summer. Certainly not so much that he can spend £40m plus on a player like Raphinha.
