Liverpool have so far made only one major signing in the form of defender Ibrahima Konate but their manager has just hinted that their transfer business might not be over.

Jurgen Klopp has made it clear that he is very much content with the current squad he has at his disposal but has also said that the management is not sitting with folded hands.

The manager said, as per Goal: “I am very happy with the squad, but it doesn’t mean that we don’t look at the market.

“But as long as nothing happens, I am more than happy with the squad I have. I am more than happy with the players I have.

“We have so many things that you cannot sign. You cannot sign our counter-pressing, you cannot sign our atmosphere that we create in the stadium, you cannot sign Anfield, you cannot sign our anthem.

“You cannot sign a lot of things and that’s what we have to use. There are other approaches out there, obviously, and we have influence on that. Our situation is like it is.

“We have a big squad and there might be something happening until the end of the transfer window, but I cannot say anything about that at the moment.”

Liverpool had a really dismal 2020-21 season and they somehow managed to get back into the top-four of the table. And this average result was primarily because the manager failed to revamp his squad last year.

And it looks like the Anfield outfit are making the same mistake yet again.

The return of Van Dijk and Joe Gomez will obviously be an added boost for Jurgen Klopp but the club are yet to upgrade the attacking department, something which was a major headache for the manager last time around.

Also, Liverpool have lost Gini Wijnaldum on a free transfer and they are yet to bring in a replacement.

Hopefully, Liverpool can secure one or maybe a couple of world-class signings before deadline day or else it will be really hard for them to compete with teams like Manchester City, Chelsea and Man United this time around as well.
