Leicester City midfielder Youri Tielemans has been tipped to move out of the club during the summer and according to Robbie Savage, the Belgian understands perfectly what is going to be the next step in his career.

Tielemans has been the mainstay in the Foxes midfield for quite some time and according to Savage, the Belgian international will be eager to rub shoulders with Europe’s elite next season.

“I’m sure Leicester and Brendan Rodgers would like to keep him.” he said on BT Sport, as quoted.

“I’m not sure if he will be at the football club (next season), Leicester do tend to lose their best players, even when they won the Premier League… (Danny) Drinkwater left, (Riyad) Mahrez went, (N’Golo) Kante went, and Tielemans, with a World Cup in December, I don’t think he’ll be a Leicester player next season.

“Will Tielemans think that playing in a team like Belgium with Kevin De Bruyne and the quality of players that they’ve got, does he want to be challenging for the Champions League on a yearly basis? Will he do that for Leicester? Not this year, last year, yes.

“I think that he will feel that he’ll want to play in the Champions League.”

Which club will Youri Tielemans choose in the summer?

Tielemans is wanted by a host of top Premier League clubs and it’s more than certain the Foxes understand that he will be leaving at the end of the season.

“We are real as a football club. You’ll get people asking if we can hang on to these players for the next six or seven years,” Rodgers recently told Sky Sports, as quoted.

“But the reality is that if a player does really well at Leicester, he may want to leave and move on to another club. For us, it’s just about being ready for that.”

Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United are all interested in signing the 24-year-old and as Robbie Savage said, Youri Tielemans is going to choose Champions League football before anything else.

Leicester have been fighting for a top-four spot for a few seasons but they are constantly failing to get there so if Tielemans is leaving then he will definitely join a side who are playing in the UCL next season.

Liverpool are guaranteed a Champions League spot but the other interested sides are still fighting for a top-four finish. Chelsea and Manchester United will first try and sign Declan Rice meaning Youri Tielamans is effectively their second choice meaning Arsenal could have a free run at signing him.

Liverpool have several midfielders in their club right now so if the Gunners can secure a top-four finish then they could very well get their hands on the Leicester City midfielder during the summer.

As many as six clubs are fighting for two Champions League spots so there’s no guarantee if the likes of Chelsea, Man United or Arsenal will be in Europe’s top tier next season.
