Liverpool are eyeing a move for Real Betis midfielder Guido Rodriguez as a potential replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, according to Sport Witness.
The 27-year-old has a release clause of €80 million but as per the report, the Spanish side are willing to let him leave for a relatively low fee and this is why Jurgen Klopp has spiked up his interest in the midfielder.
The report cites La Razon: “The 27-year-old has a release clause of €80m, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side are willing to let the player leave if they receive a fee of €30m.
“Real Betis will have to pay 25 percent of the fee to the Argentina international’s former side, Club América. A deal worth €30m wouldn’t be ‘bad’ for the Spanish club, considering they invested only €3m to acquire his services.
“With Liverpool thinking of the South American, La Razón explain Real Betis ‘could be forced to sell’ Rodríguez this summer.”
Should Liverpool try and bring Guido Rodriguez on board?
Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Guido Rodriguez for some time now and the Anfield outfit should face the least competition for this player.
Klopp’s side have also been linked with players such as Saul Niguez and Camavinga but Premier League rivals Manchester United are competing for both these signings.

So, it would make sense if Liverpool completely shift their focus to Guido Rodriguez, more so since he will be the cheapest amongst the lot at only €30 million.
Real Betis signed the midfielder last year and his current contract with the club expires in 2024 so they are in no hurry to cash in on him. But given that Liverpool are so highly interested in him, the La Liga outfit are looking to register a significant profit.
Talent-wise, Guido Rodriguez might not be the aptest for Gini Wijnaldum but with the 2021/22 season starting in just a few weeks time, the Argentine will be Liverpool safest bet in terms of bringing in a midfielder.
